Did you know...?

That in pole vaulting, there's no rule specifying how long your pole has to be? I would have thought there would be.

Just because you have a longer pole doesn't mean you can use it to get higher than you would have done with a shorter one. (*) It's like life, really.

(*) ...at the sort of heights championship jumpers reach, though obviously you aren't going to vault five metres with a two-metre pole.
