The Holiday Armadillo

There's a costume shop down the road from me, and they stand a mannequin outside dressed in a costume. Walking past it today, I thought "the Big Bad Wolf? That's a bit different. Maybe there's a movie or something..."

When I got a bit closer, I saw it had tiny little flappy cloth antlers on top of its head, and realised it's supposed to be a reindeer costume. I've really never seen anything in my life that looks less like a reindeer. It doesn't look terribly like a wolf, either, on close inspection, but I'm sure it must have started life as something completely different and been customised for Christmas shoppers...

General bloggery

There are other, more entertaining, blogs than this one, out there on the internet. One of them is called Dirty Feed and is full of wonderful and unnecessarily detailed posts about the minutiae of television show production. You should really read it, if you haven't seen it before - he also wrote no end of fascinating articles on a Red Dwarf website which I discovered a couple of days before he left that site forever, so I was delighted to recently discover his blog and even more so to see him imply that he's not going to stop writing it.

So it makes me think I should redouble my efforts to post rubbish on this blog more frequently - after all, there's always something I could ramble about. I'll make some kind of old year's resolution to keep up daily posts now. After all, I've faithfully stuck to John Hoare's other commandment not to mess with behind-the-scenes formatting and kept this blog on Blogger's basic template ever since 2004 (well, I changed it once, if memory serves, but not in any significant way). Blogging is becoming a lost art in these modern twittery times, and I think we need to preserve it!
