I'm thinking about shaving off my beard. I've had it for nearly six years now, and I was wondering whether it might be a good idea to see what I look without one now, just in case I like it. What do my loyal blog-readers think? Especially the ones who remember my pre-beard days and can make a comparison? I think I look good right now, and not having to shave in the morning is very nice, but who knows, maybe I'd look better and enjoy the shaving experience if I was beardless?
But on the other hand, I haven't shaved for six years. Can I still remember how to do it? Can I cope with advances in shaving technology? Last time I was shaving regularly, two blades was still considered an acceptable number for a razor to have. Nowadays they're up to six or seven, I've lost count. I'm not sure my face could cope with the ultimate close shave, 2008 definition.
Oh, and also, interviews tomorrow and Friday, wish me luck, you know the drill.

Lose the beard, you'll look younger and it'll always grow back if you don't like it - you never know unless you try.

I've been thinking the same, not about you, I mean me, I'm 38 and apart from two full face shaves since I was 18 I've not shaved on a regular basis apart from a quick razor flick to tidy necklines etc, on the couple of occasions I did shave fully, I was left with a pimply face the next day as my skin was so sensitive from the lack of blade use!
I've never let my beard get too thick though, always around a number 2 on the trimmer at its longest stage however as the years go by I've noticed some grey creeping in, so maybe now is the time I start shaving regularly or at least every few days till my skin can handle it!
Think I need a makeover... lol, as at the moment I look like a cross between a Mafia Hitman, the long haired version of Keyser Söze with a George Michael facial fur.
I think you should trim your beard to a different more modern design and then shave your hair on your head off for the smooth look :-)
Check out this guy, he looked like the picture on the right, but then changed to look like the left and became the worlds best pick up artist.

Bit late here, but I say keep the beard, I like it. Perhaps trim/style it a bit more...
