Birmingham Airport again

They're still playing the Beautiful South in Burger King, but now they've moved on to the obscure early albums rather than the greatest hits. Some Birmingham-based burger-baron has really excellent taste in music.

Anyway, I'm off to China. My plane's only 25 minutes late (so far) this time, so that's probably a good omen. Sorry I haven't blogged at all for the last eight years or so, but I've been busy. Not busy practicing memory, busy doing other important things. Sleeping, mostly.

It's a well known fact that Burger Empresarios have fine tast in the audio arts.

I hear Ronald McDonald has the largest collection of Stax records in the northern hemisphere.

Oh, there seems to be some stuff here http://www.worldmemorychampionships.com/latest_news.asp. Strange that the 5th and 6th placed competitors (after 5 rounds) Liu Su and Li Wei don't seem to be on the 763 player world ranking list (unless Li Wei is 337th placed Zhang Liwei, and Liu Su is 706th placed Liu Zhuan).

Best place to follow the action seems to be the memoryXL Twitter feed.

Congratulations on your mammoth hour cards world record! Apparently you have just finished third overall, but apparently some results are still pending and it might not be so clear after all. Fingers crossed for third place for you!

Hope you've had a great time, and looking forward to hearing about it from you, when you get the chance.

Zoomy, please come back!

Anonymouse - please don't call the official website rubbish. The people who run it are the same people who were working their socks off to make the competition run smoothly-ish, and didn't have time for updates.

Those two Chinese competitors hadn't previously competed in a world ranking tournament, and so weren't on the list.

For example the '2010 Final WMC Scores' link doesn't give the final scores. It gives some other stuff.
