Bank hol

Okay, this upcoming three-day weekend is officially, scientifically, the make-or-break moment for the 2010 world memory championship, in so far as it involves me. If I can do a proper weekend's hard work at memorising things for long periods of time, I can still possibly get back into championship-winning form. If I can't, I might as well give up on the idea and find another way to spend my summer. We'll just have to see.

Hi Ben,

It was great seeing you again at the Welsh open.

I know you're very busy, but I was wondering if you would be kind enough to help with a memory related question please?

In a nutshell, I've thought long and hard over this and I really want to upgrade my current encoding system to yours, for obvious reasons :)

And because it's a big change of direction, and a great deal of investment, I was wondering...
Do you have any advice to go with your systems that would save me meandering through long learning curves, Obi Wan kanobi?
Or any of your resources that you could point me towards please?

Your help with this would be so greatly appreciated.

Sorry for posting this twice, I'm not a spammer honest, although spam is alright in my book.

Many thanks

Antonio.

As I keep telling spammers, I get all comments emailed to me, whichever post you comment on. So there's no need to post anything twice, okay?

But actually, I haven't got any advice. Long learning curves are genuinely the one and only way to develop a memory system that works for you! Throw yourself into it with enthusiasm, and you'll get on fine. Good luck!

Message received, I wasn't aware that you would receive it twice until afterwards. No harm done and your're still in one piece I hope ;)

I am certainly going to throw myself into it with enthusiasm, that's a given.
Obviously as you've refined your system over the years, I was simply hoping that if their were any ways to help a fellow Brit save some time on needless mistakes with your wisdom and experience, that you would share it. I just feel it's more of an efficient move in some cases to learn from other peoples mistakes and wisdom. But anyhow, you're right, I will do fine :)

Good luck to you too.

Give up memory stuff Ben. Surely over the years you've accumulated vast sums of wealth and are in no need of more ;) You should move to Hollywood, you can become the new goto sinister English character in all the blockbuster movies; on your way there you can make a stop in Las Vegas to invest some of your loot.
