I found my old leather waistcoat recently, and I think I'm going to have to start wearing it again. It always looked cool, and since I seem unlikely to find a new hat before the world championships, and the cloak is too big and bulky to cart to Bahrain with me, I need some item of stupid-looking clothing to make me stand out from the crowd.
I'm also being forced to the conclusion that I'm going to have to take my big rucksack to Bahrain. I hate travelling with a big bag, but I've got a lot of cards and clothes and things to ship over there, and there really is the possibility of me having to take a trophy home with me (although I hate to leave space for that, because it jinxes the whole thing), and there's no way I can manage it with my little bag. Drat.

ReplyDeleteFor the record, if anyone cares...I'm openly melancholy.

ReplyDeleteAs you said, Gregory, this is MY blog, and that means I write what I feel like writing, not what you want me to write. And if you've been reading this blog, I can't imagine where you got the impression that I'd want to enter into a discussion with someone who thinks 'he is openly gay' is a reason to criticise someone. Or that although I deleted your first post, I wouldn't have a problem with you saying the exact same things again in another series of comments.
ReplyDeleteSorry to delete Mike's and Boris's posts too, but this whole thing annoys me and I wanted it got rid of - there's a time and a place for laughing at Daniel Tammet's claims to be an 'autistic savant', and that's in the pub, after a memory championship, in a friendly and good-natured kind of way. No, I'm not 'infuriated' by him - he likes publicity, I don't, he's not harming me or anyone else by getting it. Now stop posting comments here, Gregory. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
And now lets focus on some great World Memory Championships 2007 :)
ReplyDeleteJust a week to go - yihaaa! :)
A week? Yikes! I haven't done nearly enough training!
