Or, if you prefer, like all the Japanese with their usual large share of the prize money - particularly one small Japanese genius who's just become the youngest ever world othello champion. It sort of puts the lie to my occasional laments that everyone who's good at othello is older than me and has been playing the game longer than my twenty years. But watching the exciting semi-finals and final (they all went to three games, two of them with the unusual quirk of a draw in the second game!) definitely puts me in the mood to make a serious effort to play the game regularly again. Next year, UK Champion!
