How to soften the blow

"Remember the olympic games? Wasn't it cool? By the way, we're putting our prices up."

That's the slightly strange message being put across by my local chip shop...

    Hmmm the preamble about the Olympics is a bit odd, but I suppose it does the trick.

    It would be interesting also to see how far the increased portion size goes toward offsetting the price increases they announced...

    To be fair, I had a 'small' portion of chips and it was more than I could eat, so I can't complain about the portion sizes...
